About the Role

As a Relief Sheep Milker, you'll be involved in the milking of 450 Ewes in a modern 12-a-side herringbone shed twice a day.

Other typical duties include bringing in sheep for milking, assisting with relevant animal health needs, and other general tasks related to the milking shed.

  • Milk 450 sheep twice daily
  • Assist with animal husbandry
  • Perform general farm maintenance tasks

About You

Milking experience is preferred, and a background in farming would be very favourable. Have a good eye for detail, being able to pick up signs of early Mastitis and other health conditions. Be mechanically savvy, and keen to learn how to fix, maintain and wash down the milking shed/equipment to a high standard. You also need to work well with minimal supervision, be proactive, be a good communicator, be fit and healthy, and be willing to learn.

  • Milking or stock handling experience is advantageous
  • Able to pass a drug test
  • Full Clean Drivers License and reliable transport
  • Physically fit and healthy
  • Confident to solo milk
  • Available to cover weekends if needed
  • Ideally available through to March at a minimum
  • Working Holiday Visa Welcome but MUST have prior milking experience
